I found this recipe on one of the first food blogs I ever read. It caught my attention, and I thought they looked really tasty but I wasn’t sure how nutella and peanut butter would be together. I had starred the recipe in my google reader and the other day I was looking for a recipe to make so I scrolled through my starred recipes and there it was, the very first one to ever get a star. =) I’m kind of sad that it took me this long to make because they were amazing! I ate half the pan with a spoon before they had time to hardened.  I also had half a box of rice krispies left after I made the Cake Batter Rice Krispies Treats last week and I wanted to use them before they went stale, plus I wanted to make room for new ingredients clean out my pantry some and the family size box takes up a lot of cabinet space. You should definitely make these though…super easy and the flavors all blend really well together, even the peanut butter and nutella. And while you have the rice krispies you can go ahead and try the cake batter ones too. Enjoy!

Nutella Peanut Butter Rice Krispies Treats

Ingredients:
1/2 cup peanut butter or other nut butter (I used 1/4 cup almond butter and 1/4 cup peanut butter)
1/2 cup honey
1/3 cup plus, 1/2 cup Nutella
5 cups crispy rice cereal
Cooking spray

Directions
Combine peanut butter, honey and 1/3 cup nutella in a medium size bowl, mix and microwave for 30 seconds. If the nut butter is not melted, repeat for another 20 seconds. Mix well.
Add rice cereal to the nut butter-honey mixture, 1 to 2 cups at a time and stir to combine until mixture is sticky.
Spray a large casserole dish with non-stick spray and evenly distribute the mixture. It will take several hours for the treats to firm up. If you are in a hurry, place in the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 – 40 minutes
Cut into approx. 2 x 2 inch pieces and slather half of them with remaining 1/2 cup Nutella. Top with remaining crispy pieces and serve.
