I ran a marathon (and my mom bought me a “26.2” sticker for my car haha)!!! This was my first marathon and while I didn’t have a record breaking time, I FINISHED! 26.2 miles is a LONG WAY!!! I did quite a bit of research looking for the “perfect” marathon for my first one and chose the Rocket City Marathon in Huntsville, Alabama. It was a great race. I loved running right through the space center, and it’s a pretty flat course. I’m not sure when/if I will do another. I’ve been enjoying lots of 5Ks and pilates for now =).

Happy Birthday to Pepper! She turned 3 on Christmas day.

And Happy Birthday to this little guy! Hard to believe he is already 5.

I’ve read several books in the last month or so, but sadly not many that I would recommend. I did read the newest Jack Reacher book Night School and it was a good read, as always =).

Did everyone have a good Christmas? I got lots of warm clothes and shoes in preparation for my upcoming trip to Iceland. So excited!! Unfortunately, it was almost 70 degrees on Christmas day so I couldn’t wear/use any of them! Haha

Here are a few of my favorite gifts. 1. A parka, of course (in brown). =) 2. Snow boots – aren’t they cute?? 3. My cousins bought me a double-wall, vacuum-sealed tumbler for my birthday, and I loved it so much I asked for a second one for Christmas. 4. I don’t really listen to music while I run, but I always need somewhere to put my keys. This running belt seems like the perfect solution. I’m excited to try it out! 5. Monogrammed long-sleeved t-shirts. Love!

I’m flying to Waco in a few days for some friend-time with a couple of my BFFs. Love these girls! Can’t wait!!! =).

I signed up for a photography class in a couple weeks. I shoot primarily in aperture mode, but I’d like to get more comfortable shooting in manual mode. The class has really great reviews, so I’m hopeful that it will be educational…and fun =).

I never know what to hang on my door after Christmas. I kind of hate to jump from Christmas to Valentine’s Day, so I made this snowflake. It was super easy, and I think it turned out pretty cute. I used this tutorial – painted icy blue and sprayed with a clear glittery paint (which you can’t really appreciate in the picture).

I don’t have cable…but I’ve got Netflix! 😉 I tend to watch more tv this time of year because WINTER. These are two shows that I’m loving lately. I watched the entire season of The Crown in one week. Did I mention that I binge watch?? I love historical dramas and the acting is top-notch. I also started watching Legends. It’s a spy drama based on a book by Robert Littell. It kind of reminds me of the Jason Bourne series (which I loved!!). It originally came on TNT and was cancelled after 2 seasons though, but the first season is great. Hopefully it won’t have a terrible cliff hanger ending. I’ll let you know =). What are your favorite shows lately?

I got a stitch fix box this month for the first time in a while. I don’t get boxes every month (this was only my 3rd box). I feel like you need to get several in order to establish a better “style profile” and get better fixes. This fix was probably my favorite box so far. I especially love the Wilco Solid Quilted Vest!! The Elroy Angled Button Knit Top is so much cuter in person and fit perfectly (super comfy too!). I loved the Lorimer Mixed Print Blouse too – easy to dress up or down. This isn’t the exact shirt dress that I got (I couldn’t find a picture of the one I got), but this one is pretty similar – comfortable and cute. I kept the Adele Skinny Jeans even though they were a bit tighter than I would normally wear, but if you keep all 5 pieces you get a 25% discount so it was cheaper for me to keep them than send them back. If you haven’t tried Stitch Fix before, give it a chance – especially if you don’t like to shop.
