I’m taking a break from baking all. the. pies. to bake cookies! =) I’m not exactly in the Christmas spirit yet, but I’m getting there. And Christmas means cookies, right?!?  These cookies are everything you want in a cookie – slightly crispy edges, chewy centers, and a great flavor combination. I mean, who doesn’t love orange and white chocolate?? Seriously the best! If you’re looking for a new cookie recipe to try out this year, look no further. Perfect for cookie exchanges, holiday platters, or Wednesdays ;). Enjoy!

Orange Creamsicle Cookies

2-1/2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp orange extract
2 tbsp orange zest
2 cups white chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In bowl of stand mixer with paddle attachment, cream butter and sugars until light and creamy. Add in egg, vanilla, orange extract, and zest. Beat until smooth.
3. Add in salt and baking soda and beat until combined. Add flour and mix on low until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Refrigerate dough for 1 hour.
4. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets using a #40 scoop (about 1-1/2 tbsp). Bake in preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool on baking sheet for a couple minutes. Then, transfer to wire rack to cool completely.  Makes about 2 dozen cookies.
