It’s always fun when I go back and see which recipes were the most popular for the year. There are always a few surprises =). 2013 was certainly a big year for us : I graduated medical school, we moved, bought our first house, remodeled said house, and I’ve survived the first 6 months of residency! It’s been a wild ride for sure. Despite my crazy schedule, I’ve somehow managed to continue baking and blogging – some months more than others for sure – but I’ve really tried to maintain the “normal” in my life. All work and no play makes Kendra a dull (and unhappy!) girl for sure…just ask Jordan if you don’t believe me ;). And it was very exciting when I realized that several of my posts had over a 1000 views this year. I know that’s not very many for people that have “real” blogs, but for me, that’s exciting and I appreciate everyone who takes the time to read my little blog. I’m excited to see what delicious recipes 2014 brings my way =).
So without further ado, here are the top 10 most viewed recipes of 2013….
10. Chocolate Cheesecake Bites – I made these for our new year’s party last year. They’re super easy and who doesn’t love the combination of brownie and cheesecake??
9. Chocolate Whole Wheat Waffles – Quite a few chocolate recipes made the cut this year, and these chocolate waffles were certainly delicious. I also really like the pictures of this recipe =). Kind of makes me want to go make some waffles right now!
8. Cinnamon Raisin Biscuits – These cinnamon raisin biscuits are a healthier version of everyone’s favorite restaurant version. We used to make these all the time growing up.
7. Homemade Marshmallow Creme – I was surprised this recipe made the top 10, not because it’s not a great recipe but because I just really didn’t know if people would take the time to make homemade marshmallow creme. Whether they clicked on the recipe because they were intrigued or whether people actually whipped up their own homemade marshmallow creme I’ll never know. Did anyone give it a try?
6. Baked Coconut Shrimp – I made these shrimp after our trip to Hawaii last spring….sooo good! These baked coconut shrimp would be perfect for an appetizer or for a main dish. I like to dip mine in some sweet asian chili sauce.
5. No-Bake Nutella Cookies – You don’t even need an oven to make these cookies! All you need is a microwave, but you don’t have to tell anyone that unless you just want to brag about your mad microwave skills ;).
4. One-Minute Chocolate Fudge Frosting – Chocolate fudge frosting in one minute? Yeah, I really don’t think I need to say anything more =).
3. Cinnamon Oat Bran Muffins – Apparently everyone else loves bran muffins as much as I do. These muffins really are phenomenal, especially if you love cinnamon oatmeal cookies.
2. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Brownies – Chocolate and peanut butter is a classic combo, so it’s no surprise that these brownies made the cut. An added bonus is that they start with a box mix, so you can whip these babies up in a snap.
1. {Quick, Easy, & Healthy} Spinach and Artichoke Pasta – This is the first time ever that a non-dessert recipe has made it to the top spot, but this recipe deserves it. The name pretty much says it all – a quick, easy, and healthy pasta dish. It’s the perfect weeknight meal.
