Hi, my name is Kendra and I have an obsession with rice krispy treats. =) I don’t know if it’s hot where you are, but here in Tennessee it’s blazing hot! Like 100 degrees…every day…yikes! So obviously no one wants to heat the house up by baking. Frozen desserts and no-bake desserts are a great alternative – and just as tasty! Because, who doesn’t like ice cream and rice krispy treats?? =) This recipe is somewhat of a combination of both. I took the flavor idea from Ben and Jerry’s Chubby Hubby Ice Cream and combined it with regular rice krispy treats – yum! If you like rice krispy treats or chubby hubby ice cream, you should definitely try this recipe. Enjoy!
Chubby Hubby Rice Krispy Treats
3 tbsp butter
10.5 oz miniature marshmallows
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
2 cups coarsely crushed pretzels
5-6 cups rice krispies cereal
Topping:
1 cup chocolate chips
2 tbsp peanut butter
¼ cup crushed pretzels
1. In a large saucepan over low heat, melt butter. Add marshmallows and stir constantly until fully melted.
2. Stir in peanut butter until combined. Remove from heat and stir in pretzels and rice krispies. Press into a greased 9×13 inch pan.
3. In a small microwave safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and peanut butter. Microwave in 30 second intervals until melted and smooth. Spread over rice krispy mixture and sprinkle with crushed pretzels.
