Is it un-American to say that I don’t like to watch football?? And that I can’t remember EVER watching the Super Bowl? But I know that lots of people love football and most of America will be watching the game this Sunday. Maybe you’re having friends over but it’s really more about the food than the football, and you’re looking for some good snacks to make? Look no further–these bacon wrapped smokies are super easy and a crowd-pleaser for sure! It does take a little time to wrap them in the bacon, but you could wrap them and then place them in the fridge so that when it gets close to party time all you have to do is sprinkle them with brown sugar and bake. Enjoy!

Bacon Wrapped Smokies
1 pound bacon
1 (14 oz) package cocktail wieners
brown sugar (to taste, I used about 1/2-3/4 cup)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with nonstick spray.
2. Cut each slice of bacon into thirds. Take each third and wrap around a wiener. Place seam side down on baking sheet. Sprinkle wieners with brown sugar.
3. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until bacon is cooked and sugar is melted. Remove from oven and immediately insert a toothpick into each one. Cool only slightly before removing from pan because the melted sugar will harden and make them kind of stick to the pan. Serve warm.
